I like a lot of things. The two most important ones are avatar (and korra), and people. I like people a lot but sometimes they make me sad.

Hey there, I’m Mina.
So I had this page before but I never really had it accessible because it was so barebones… I guess I’ll try to flesh it out and stuff. Here goes!
I’m a lot of things, I guess? Let me break it down:
- I love all your basic nerd interests, from computers to video games to comics to anime to Harry Potter. You know the drill. I read tech blogs like Engadget religiously (and I’d love to work for one some day). I constantly make retarded nerdy jokes or puns or references or pickup lines. I’m a grammar nazi. I just have a passion for the things and people I love, and quite frankly, that’s what I believe being a nerd amounts to. [Paraphrased, with fond affection, from John Green.]
- I want to be a writer. Maybe not as a career, but definitely at least a hobby. I wrote for my high school paper and I really enjoy journalism, but mostly I write poetry. I’m also starting a novel soon, but right now I’m still fleshing out the characters and the plot in my mind and in notes I jot down on my iPhone xD
- I also love to read. You’ll see below how long my list of favorite authors is. And I always want to learn about more! And that list is just current-day young adult fiction. Moving back in time to the classics, I’ve also enjoyed some stuff by Ayn Rand, George Orwell, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Henry David Thoreau, and of course Shakespeare. And I’m absolutely obsessed with Greek Mythology, so there’s the Iliad and the Odyssey, and all of those excellent ancient texts.
- I like to talk. And explain things. And have things explained to me. And debate about any topic. And figure out how things work. And discover new things about myself or others. I just like to know things and I like it when other people know things. Intelligence is sexy, as they say.
- I’m awkward as hell. But get to know me and you’ll eventually think it’s charming. :D
- I’m a nerdfighter.
- I also rather enjoy sports, contrary to popular belief. Quidditch, for sure, but I’m never averse to watching the Scarlet Knights or the Eagles or the Phillies kick someone’s ass (or equally as likely get their asses kicked)! My favorite is probably soccer though. Barcelona fan through and through!
- Last but not least, I am who I am because of my amazing friends. A lot of them are on here, so I’ll tip my hat to them really quickly. Erica <3, Zach, Teddy, Amy, Sam, Sydney. And there are more which my tired mind can’t recall currently, but I love them just as much. These crazy people have helped me through a lot. We’ve laughed together and grown together and learned together and now some of us live together (kinda). We’ve all kinda parted ways now but I think friendship transcends distance, and no matter what we’ll have each other’s backs. Aaaanyway that’s enough sappiness for now xD
Music I like: Basically everything. Really, there’s no genre not represented in my iTunes library. Some of my favorites are LIGHTS <3, Owl City, Linkin Park, Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, Coldplay, Adele, Paramore, Hey Monday, The Beatles, The Who, Michael Jackson (R.I.P. <3), Eminem, Jason Mraz, Michael Buble, Ingrid Michaelson, Ellie Goulding, Keane, Mumford and Sons, and Muse. I also listen to movie and video game soundtracks, showtunes, stand up comedy recordings, LOTS of YouTube covers, and music from various other languages (Egyptian, Spanish, Japanese, Italian, etc.)
TV: Chuck, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Phineas and Ferb, Smallville, LOST, Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother.
Movies: Tangled, Harry Potter, Mean Girls, Tron/Tron:Legacy, 500 Days, etc. You know, all the default Tumblr stuff.
Authors: Obviously JK Rowling. I also highly suggest Cassandra Clare (Both The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices series), John Green, Rick Riordan (the Percy Jackson series), Scott Westerfield (the Uglies series and the Leviathan series), Suzanne Collins (the brilliant Hunger Games trilogy), David Lubar, David Levithan, Maureen Johnson, and I’m sure there are several others I’m forgetting. I love to read, and I’m always open to great book suggestions so I’d love it if you sent me one in my ask! :)
Other: I like to reblog things like Tech News, Gaming News, memes, jokes, cute/funny pictures, memorable/inspiring sayings, t-shirt designs, and sometimes sexual stuff. You know, just to keep you all on your toes. My blog is nothing if not prolific. Oh, and also I’m a moderate Democrat, but I see flaws with both parties and frankly with the entire American system of government. And religiously, I’m an Orthodox Christian. In case anyone wants to know.
